In Singapore, education is highly regarded, and the primary school curriculum is designed to lay a strong foundation for students’ future learning.
2025 Science Tutorial Classes: Join our popular Science Tutorial Classes (only 3-5 students per class) taught by our MOE Teachers! ― Our Science Tutorial Classes is taught in a tutorial style. The teacher sits at the same table with 3-5 students, and tutors each of the students directly, taking turns. These classes allow weaker students to get individualised attention, and most students see positive grade improvements within 3-4 months of starting.
2025 Home Tuition Programme: Ask us about our Home Tuition Options ― Almost 40% of our science students prefer the individualised teaching we offer through our 1-1 home tuition. Although more expensive, students enjoy the benefits of a highly dedicated lesson, from the comfort & safety of their living room. Students still follow our established Science Cirriculum Lesson Plan, and we provide all necessary materials for each lesson.
The Science Hub was created by a small group of ex-MOE teachers with a simple purpose to enable students to learn science in a simple, effective, and fun way. Unlike most centers, we focus only on one subject ― science, as we believe that’s where our core strength lies. We dedicate all efforts into mastering the Science paper. Which is why our students consistently outperform their peers in the Science exams each year.
Our students are important to us. This is why we continually (1) search for the most experienced Science teachers, (2) built a specialised syllabus team, and (3) gather the latest papers from MOE schools. We go to significant efforts to ensure that our students have access to the most comprehensive study materials. So that when our students go into the examination hall, we have quiet confidence in their ability to excel.
Since our humble beginnings as a handful of science tutors all those years ago, we now have tuition centers located throughout Singapore (all near an MRT). We have taught thousands of students, among them is a great majority that has achieved distinctions in the exams. As we continue our work — exploring the world of science with the young minds — we remain committed to giving you one of the most engaging & captivating Science learning experiences in Singapore.

The Science Lab was started by 2 ex-MOE Science Professors ― with a simple goal of making the learning of Science efficient, engaging & fun.
Unlike other tuition centers, we have chosen to focus only on Science because we believe it is where our core strength lies. We focus all resources on perfecting the Science paper. This is why our students continue to ace the exams every year.
Your Science education is important to us. That’s why we continually (1) seek the best Science teachers, (2) created a Syllabus Committee, and (3) source for materials from top schools. Our teachers go to extensive efforts to make all academic resources readily available to our students. So that when our students go for the Science exams, we have quiet confidence in their ability to outperform their peers.
Since starting in 2002, we have now grown to multiple branches, with thousands of students learning with us. Together with our team, we promise to continue bringing you one of the most effective & engaging maths learning experience in Singapore.

We offer Group Classes for all Primary levels (P3 to P6), and all Secondary levels (including Combined Science, Pure Physics, and Pure Chemistry). For our JC students, we have classes for H2 Physics and H2 Chemistry. During school holidays, we also offer intensive classes and Bootcamp for our weaker students.
The Science Hub also has an extensive Home Tuition programme ― where our tutors travel to the student’s residence to give 1-1 Science tuition. We find 1-1 Home Tuition is particularly helpful for weaker students. All tutors are our full-time staff; and all materials are provided.
We also have both 1-1 Online Classes, and Group Online Classes. Online classes are especially convenient for students who have a busy schedule, and are unable to come to the center. We will send you all class materials beforehand. Simply turn on your computer, and start the lesson!
We have Science classes for all Primary, Secondary, and JC levels. For each level, we have two main types of classes, the smaller Intensive class & the larger Standard classes. We also have specialised Holiday Programmes & Remedial Classes for weaker students to catch up.
Our 1-1 Classes may be conducted either at (1) our Centre or as (2) Home tuition. Our teachers are highly experienced, and many are scholarship recipients themselves. 1-1 Classes are taught based on our Intensive Syllabus, and all required materials will be provided.
Our Online Tuition allows students to have lessons right from their own home computer. We will walk you through the computer set-up process, and all required mateirals will be sent to you before the class starts. At the scheduled class time, simply turn on your computer and start your video-conference class with us.

Most of our teachers at The Science Lab are MOE-registered. Attaining MOE-registration requires teachers to submit their A-level & university transcripts to be vetted by the Ministry of Education. MOE also does a background check to ensure the individual is a “person of good moral standing”, and without any prior infractions with the law.
We get that parents need a lot of confidence when hiring a tutor – the assurance that they know their materials well and are not some dodgy character. For this reason, our teachers are MOE-registered so that you can rest assured when your child is under us.
Student-to-teacher ratios are important to us. Studies show that smaller class sizes correlate with better student participation & interaction. Lesson plans can also be tailored to better meet the needs of individual students. This is why we keep our classes small and cohesive.

Quality materials & handouts are necessary for students to improve. Aside from lectures and classes, our take-home materials are the 2nd most important way we help our students do well.
Our teachers continually source for the latest MOE exam papers, the most recent assessment books, and the most updated school notes for our students. So whether you are working on Chemistry, Biology, or Physics, you will always have a complete and detailed set of notes by your side.

We spend a significant amount of time & resources to create a syllabus that is both highly effective & complete. We understand that students have busy schedules too. We aim at churning out such a syllabus which enables students to score high in the examinations and also does not need excessive studying time.
The Science exam paper is certainly a large one, with many topics accompanied naturally by multiple concepts and numerous scientific principles – but we believe that provision effort in the study can lead to students learning everything they will need when sitting down for their exams. Our syllabus is continually revised every year, so that we focus on the most relevant scientific subjects and use the most updated lesson plans.
We have collaborated with an NGO & MOE to provide subsidised tuition for students from lower-income families. We conduct these classes at MOE schools on weekends. We hope to do our small part for the Singapore community.

The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in Singapore assesses students on their understanding of the Science syllabus, which covers a wide range of topics. While the difficulty of topics can vary depending on the student’s strengths and weaknesses, some topics are commonly perceived as more challenging due to their abstract nature or the depth of understanding required. Below is a breakdown of the toughest topics and strategies to tackle them.
Often, our daily lives are so spurious and hectic that we often do not bother to find out how things work, no matter how simple. The discipline of Sciences helps us study how things interact in our daily life, and there are many scientific concepts visible in life which we often take for granted. This article aims to shed light on some of the ways we forget that our daily lives are immersed in science.
Science textbooks these days are filled with complex calculations, seemingly alien symbols, and concepts which are difficult to visualise, and it is no surprise that students struggle with the subject. This article aims to provide some basic tips on how to study Science the right way for exams or Singapore Weighted Assessments.
One of the worst styles of revising for Science exams, particularly Physics questions, is to blindly memorising the concepts, formulas, or past questions and going into the exam to apply this knowledge.

Science is an important subject in Singapore for students and it plays a huge role. This subject is required for qualifications from primary to A-Level for all students. Doing well in this subject can earn you a ticket into some of the more popular university courses like engineering.
Science is also extremely useful in real-life applications, such as in understanding natural phenomena, making informed decisions, and solving practical problems. In the professional world, complex scientific principles are also applied daily in fields like healthcare, research, and technology.
Thanks in part to a science curriculum from the Ministry of Education, Singapore students are often ranked among the best science rankings globally. Science is now taught in a more detailed way with the topics covered increasing every year.
Here at The Science Lab, we make it a priority to ensure science is a fun and practical subject, done through visual aids and performing experiments on your own. This will show you what happens in reality, in real life. We have seen a higher performance in science classes from students because they see the importance of it after these experiences.
As part of our online learning initiative, we have an internet chat forum for our students and teachers. Students are welcome to post discussions on topics and problems we have discussed in class. If you have a question, search the forum, and chances are you will find the answer instantly!
Our aspirations for our students extend beyond simply doing well in the exams. To this end, we try to encourage our students to better themselves for life with a series of self-help books that we distribute for free!
Connect with you teacher on a daily basis! Now, students can take a pic of their work and send it over whatsapp or email to the teacher. You will receive a response from your teacher within 24 hours, and you can focus on the other things.
Written in our school constitution is mission is to help every student, notwithstanding their financial resources. That’s why we have a programme dedicated to students who face financial hardship, to help and nurture them as best we can.
There is no substitute for practice. So every week, we give an ample amount of practice problems for the student to take home. Our practice problems are specifically selected to repeat and reinforce what the student learns in class that week.
When the time comes to see our students head off to college, it is truly a bittersweet time. We are so blessed to have been a part of their life journey and we all wish them well. Mercifully, a lot of students do keep up with us and also with the friends that they made here.
Each child’s learning needs are unique. We understand this and ensure that children with special learning difficulties can still perform well with our quality teaching methodologies. Our teachers are professionally trained, and will give each child the care they deserve.
Confidence is a crucial element to a child’s progress. A typical child has to battle hard to be heard in the average class size of 40 students during lessons. At the Science Lab, each student gets personalised attention from their tutor and our class size is limited to 5-12 students.
If you feel your child can have the potential to perform better, the Science Lab will help your child to reach the next level.
At The Science Lab, we are confident that we have the resources and experience to help your child achieve their best.
